Brief of Project - Sustainable Stitches
Sustainable Stitches in Gethia village, Nainital, empowers over 120 women artisans by transforming leftover fabric into handcrafted jewelry, addressing textile waste. Founded by Gaurav Agarwal of Kartavya Karma, the project has given these women a platform, new identity, and community respect, turning Gethia into Uttarakhand's Handicraft Village. This sustainable model is now inspiring similar initiatives in other villages.
Brief of Project - Ujaala
Project Ujaala empowers rural women by teaching them to craft eco-friendly beeswax candles, providing a sustainable livelihood. Beeswax candles are cleaner, longer-lasting, and free from synthetic fragrances, aligning with the project’s commitment to health and the environment. Named "Ujaala" to symbolize light, the initiative aims to bring both economic growth and brighter futures to the women and their families.

Herbal Harmony empowers Himalayan women farmers by providing technical training, seeds, and support to grow local herbs, which they turn into high-quality herbal teas and infusions. This initiative by Kartavya Karma promotes sustainable agriculture, offering fair prices and improving livelihoods while delivering nutrient-rich, pure herbal products to consumers. The unique Himalayan environment enhances the quality and health benefits of the herbs, supporting both farmers and wellness.
Brief of Project - Aipan
Project Aipan by Kartavya Karma aims to revive and promote Uttarakhand’s traditional Aipan art by adapting its intricate patterns onto modern stationery and handicraft products. To preserve its authenticity, the project avoids religious symbols and focuses on non-religious designs, while providing training to women artisans. This initiative not only helps preserve cultural heritage but also creates livelihood opportunities, countering the trend of mass-produced Aipan stickers.

Dhuni is a social initiative in Uttarakhand that empowers rural women by transforming waste from the herbal tea industry into organic, chemical-free incense sticks and cones. Dhuni’s products are sold locally and online, showcasing the region's cultural heritage and fostering eco-friendly practices, all while supporting the women who craft them.
Brief of Project - Bunai
Project Tana-Bana by Kartavya Karma empowers women artisans in the hills of Uttarakhand by reviving the traditional craft of hand-knitting. Through this initiative, women create a variety of handmade woolen products like sweaters, shawls, scarves, and blankets, blending cultural heritage with modern designs. The project not only provides these women with sustainable livelihoods but also preserves a centuries-old craft, offering consumers eco-friendly, high-quality items crafted with care and tradition.

Sweet Affaire
Brief of Project - Sweet Affaire
The honey harvesting project in Gajyola village, Kasar Devi, led by Kartavya Karma, empowers local women while offering high-quality honey from the indigenous Apis cerana indica bee. With 20 beehives managed by trained women, the initiative promotes sustainable practices and effective pollination, enhancing local agriculture. By producing honey and by-products like bee pollen and wax, this eco-friendly project supports both livelihoods and environmental sustainability, creating a harmonious balance for the community.
